Stygg Karret. Prescribed burning in Sweden.

We invite you to participate in the international online seminar “The Role of Fire in Forest Ecosystems. Prescribed Burning as a Tool for Nature Management“ which will take place on 17 March, 13:00-17:00 (EET). The topic will be presented by experts from United States of America, Sweden, Finland and Latvia, as well as scientists from Vytautas Magnus University who are  researching  fire ecology and forest fires history in Lithuania.

Speakers from Nordic countries will present how prescribed burning has been  used for more than 30 years for the restoration and maintenance of this habitat in their countries and the impact of prescribed burning to the biodiversity. Dr. Charles Ruffner from USA who collaborates with scientists from Vytautas Magnus University in fire ecology and forest fires history research will present prescribed burning and how fire can be applied in Lithuanian forests.
