On March 21st, the team of the LIFE integrated project “Naturalit” held a seminar titled “Human and Forest Relationship, Use and Protection” in which anthropologist Eunice Blavascunas (having Lithuanian roots) was a guest speaker.
Professor E. Blavascunas gave a lecture titled “Think like an Anthropologist” to foresters and national park ecologists. She has worked for the United States National Park Service and Forest Service and for many years has conducted research on the conflict between foresters, local communities, conservationists, and other stakeholders in the Białowieża Forest in Poland.
The seminar also included two presentations in Lithuanian. Professor Gediminas Brazaitis from the Faculty of Forestry and Ecology at Vytautas Magnus University shared his insights, and Dalia Blažulionytė, an anthropologist and specialist in intangible cultural heritage from the Dzūkija National Park and Čepkeliai State Nature Reserve Directorate, also presented her work.
